statement of intent

artistic work entails, for me, the establishment of an aesthetic connection between intuition and technique.  the theme of movement is my point of departure.  on the one hand, i draw directly from models.  on the other hand, i approach a form via free discourse with color, surface and line.

selection, combination and reordering elicit one another in this perpetual process.  the observer should be able to experience a process because every apparently momentary calm, every thought is ultimately a part of the movements of time, upon which another thought takes shape or a fundamentally new thought assumes form.

what is essential?  what lies beneath the beneath?
